Tip-Off | Western Illinois welcomes Denver for the final home games inside Western Hall on Friday and Saturday at 4:30 p.m. 

Headlines 
  • Grace Gilmore set the program single-game scoring record and tied The Summit League Scoring record with 46 points on Saturday at Omaha. The mark was also the second most by a NCAA Women's Basketball player this season. 
  • Freshman Anna Deets hit seven three-pointers en route to a career-high 23 points on Sunday vs. Omaha. She has drilled a team-leading 35 to rank 5th in the Summit.
  • The record setting weekend earned Grace Gilmore her first career Player of the Week honor as she was named CO-Pow along with Myah Selland (SDSU).
  • Evan Zars passed Sophie Reichelt (2013-16) and became 4th all-time in blocks with 77 on Sunday against Omaha.   
  • Four Leathernecks are averaging double-figures in Summit League play - Grace Gilmore (15.0), Danni Nichols (12.3), Evan Zars (12.3) and Elizabeth Lutz (10.1).
  • Western owns the all-time series against Denver 12-3, including a perfect 7-0 in Macomb.   
Welcome Back | First-year Denver head coach and former Leatherneck, Doshia Woods, will make her return to Western Hall this weekend.
 
Woods was Second-Team selection in 2000-01 and later served as an assistant coach at WIU for three seasons (01-04). She helped lead the program to back-to-back WNIT berths and a 57-30 record. 
 
Summit Leaders | Both as a team and individually Western leads the conference in multiple categories - assists (258), free-throws made (272), steals (157),  steals per game (7.8), three-point field goals made (169).

-Grace Gilmore | assists (74) and free-throws made (140)
-Elizabeth Lutz | steals (50) and steals per game (2.5)
-Evan Zars | double-doubles (7), minutes played (600), and rebounds (176) 
 
Scouting the Opposition | Denver is coming off a series split vs. North Dakota last weekend… the Pioneers are 3-5 in Summit play and are in sixth place… Megan Boyd (14.8) and Uju Ezeudu (14.7) lead the offense for them.
 
Summit Tournament Update | The 2021 Men's and Women's Summit League Basketball Tournaments will be held without fans and the games will be moved to the Sanford Pentagon and played during the originally scheduled dates of March 6-9. 

Up Next | Western Illinois has a bye week and then concludes the season on Feb. 27 and 28 at Oral Roberts.
