Men's Soccer Travels to Wisconsin

Matchup history: WIU and Wisconsin have faced off six times in program history, with the Leathernecks holding a losing record. Their last matchup came on Oct. 25, 2016, which the Badgers won 3-1 in Madison.

Players to watch: In his third season as a Leatherneck, Cameron Territo currently leads the team in minutes played (796). The defender from McKeesport, Pa., has played the full 90 minutes in seven games this season - including the team's last match at Oral Roberts.
 
Playing off the left side of the formation, Pall Ingvason has played in each of the team's ten matches this year and has made five starts. In WIU's last game against ORU, he played the full 90 minutes. A true freshman from Akureyri, Iceland, he ranks seventh on the roster in minutes played (625) and has recorded two shots.
 
Scouting the opponent: Wisconsin is currently 6-2-3 and is in the midst of a four-game winning streak, most recently defeating Ohio State 2-0 in Columbus. Inaki Iribarren leads the Badgers with three goals on the year, and five different Wisconsin players have recorded multiple assists. 

Summit League Play: WIU has played two matches in conference play thus far. There are four more Summit League games on the season; two at home (St. Thomas and Eastern Illinois), two on the road (Kansas City and Omaha). At the conclusion of the season, the Summit League's Men's Soccer Championship will be played in Macomb, with games scheduled for Nov. 11 and 13. More information will be made available at a later date.

What's next: The Leathernecks will play their next match at home on Saturday (Oct. 16), taking on St. Thomas in their third Summit League match of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
