Tip-Off | The Western Illinois women's basketball has a quick turn around after a Tuesday (Dec. 17) 97-91 victory over SEMO, to gear up for the Compass Challenge.

Compass Challenge | The second-year event features four directional in-state schools, Southern, Eastern, Western, and host Northern. This time the event will be played like an actual tournament with a trophy going to the champions.

Scenarios | Western kicks off the tournament against SIU followed by Eastern versus Northern at 7 p.m. If the Leathernecks win the opener, the championship game will be determined by the winner of Eastern against Northern. If WIU loses, it will face the loser of that matchup at the same time if it won.

Win or Lose:

Eastern: Leathernecks vs. Panthers at 4:30 p.m.
Northern: Leathernecks vs. Huskies at 7 p.m.

Last Time Out | Career-highs, trips to the line, and the three-ball was the name of the game for the Western Illinois women's basketball in a 97-91 defeat of the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Tuesday (Dec. 17) night.

A deep three from Olivia Kaufmann started the midweek showdown, and that would be Western's motto of the night as a total of 17 threes poured in. The mark ties four fourth all-time in a game with the last occurrence against Chicago State Nov. 21, 2015.

Career-highs in points from Annabel Graettinger (26), Sam Pryor (15), and Kaufmann (30) also highlighted the fifth victory at home and a new leader in the all-time series (7-6, WIU). Graettinger shot a perfect 8-8 from the field and 4-4 from beyond the arc to aid Western's season-high in points (97).
