Tip-Off |
After 10 days off and two straight road games, the Western Illinois women's basketball team returns to Western Hall Tuesday (Dec. 17) for a contest against Southeast Missouri at 5:30 p.m.

Last Time Out | Grace Gilmore led the charge in 88-78 win after a slow first quarter start at Chicago State on Saturday (Dec. 7). 

The Cougars opened the game shooting 58 percent to own a 37-27 lead at the end of the first quarter, Gilmore responded with a career-high 19 points to lead the way for the Leathernecks in the first road victory of the season. Outside of Gilmore, three other Leathernecks ended with double-digits in Graettinger (15) and Olivia Kaufmann (16) along with a double-double from Evan Zars (10 pts. 14 reb.)  

Series History | Tuesday will decide a new leader in the all-time series as the Leathernecks and Redhawks are tied at 6-6.

Challenging Start | Western Illinois continued in the tradition of stacking a highly competitive slate to start the season, including Drake and Mizzou, who both made NCAA appearances in the 2018-19 season as well as Big Ten opponent Purdue. The Leathernecks also battled schools in the Missouri Valley Conference which ranks second collectively in RPI this season.

Up Next | Western Illinois concludes non-league play at the Compass Challenge at Northern Illinois starting on Thursday (Dec. 19) versus Southern Illinois. The tournament features all four directional Illinois institutions.
