Leatherneck Tennis Ends Fall season

WIU concluded the final day of the Cougar Invite on Saturday.

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The Western Illinois tennis team ended the fall season where it started at the SIUE Tennis Courts on the final day of the Cougar Invite on Saturday (Oct. 12). 

Day two featured singles action against SIUE and doubles versus William Woods. 

Laura Ballesteros and Nikhita Simhambhatla teamed up in doubles play. The duo had to retire 1-2 because of injury. The final doubles group was Ericka Dawson and Grace Stevens who fell 0-6

In singles play, Simhambhatla battled in the No. 2 spot and lost 2-6, 5-7. Ballesteros (No. 1) fell 1-6, 4-6, and Lucky Kancherla dropped 4-6 and 0-6 in No. 3 singles. Dawson (No. 4) and Stevens (No. 5) were downed in two sets.
