Support WIU Cheerleaders with ‘Paint the Town Purple’

Western Illinois fans have the opportunity to have the Western Illinois purple 'W' painted on their driveways again this year.

Western Illinois fans have the opportunity to have the Western Illinois purple 'W' painted on their driveways again this year as the WIU cheerleaders and Rocky are looking to 'Paint the Town Purple' for the fifth consecutive fall.

"We are excited to offer Macomb community members an opportunity to show their WIU spirit and support Western Illinois University and Athletics by allowing the WIU Cheerleaders to paint a big purple 'W' on their driveway," said cheerleading coach Karen Trusley. "This will be a month long project from September 1 to October 1."

For only $25 the cheerleaders and Rocky will paint a purple Western Illinois 'W' on a driveway. All proceeds go to WIU Cheerleading. 

"The Western Illinois University Cheerleaders and Rocky are responsible for fundraising for gear, equipment, and travel expenses to games, camps, and appearances. We are hopeful that this fundraiser will help defray some of the out-of-pocket expenses for our squad members," said Trusley. "We appreciate the community's support in advance with these efforts to raise funds. We look forward to painting the town purple and go Leathernecks!"

To make reservations, fill out a Paint the Town Purple Request Form. If you are not interested in the 'Paint the Town Purple' event, but would like to provide a donation to the WIU Cheerleaders, please feel free to contact the Athletic Department at (309) 298-1190.
