Men’s Soccer Completes Locker Room Renovation

Through the generosity of private funding, the project installed new carpet, lights and 32 lockers in the space.

MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois Athletics proudly announced the completion of its men's soccer locker room renovation Wednesday (Dec. 19). Through the generosity of private funding, the project installed new carpet, lights and 32 lockers.

"The men's soccer team will be able to enjoy this space for years to come, and I'm excited that we were able to complete the locker room project for them," said interim athletic director Danielle Surprenant. "I want to thank all those that contributed to the renovation project. Without the support and generosity of our alumni, friends, family, and local community, this locker room project would not have been possible."

Phase two of the renovation project, which will be completed soon, included a locker sponsorship, where supporters were able to "sponsor" a locker to have their name permanently placed on it.

"This project completely transformed our locker room," added director of soccer Dr. Eric Johnson. "The financial support of our alumni and friends was critical in the renovation, so thank you! Also, thanks to Joe Roseleib and our physical plant staff for the removal of the old lockers and to Jack Laverdiere for his generosity in the installation process. Our student-athletes are pleased with the new look and are thankful as well."
