MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois plays host to the visiting Bradley Braves on Tuesday (Oct. 31) at 3 p.m. for a matchup on Halloween. This will mark the first of the two remaining home matches at John MacKenzie for the regular season.

LAST TIME OUT:
With 27 ticks remaining on the clock, the Western Illinois men's soccer team netted a game-winning goal off the foot of Alejandro Pacheco for a 1-0 Summit League victory over Oral Roberts (Oct. 28).

Assisted by his brother Fernando Pacheco, Alejandro received the ball off a cross from the right side and scored off a deflection in the middle. The goal marked the first of Alejandro's this season and his second-career. With the win, the Leathernecks improve to 5-8-0 overall and now have a 3-1-0 mark in league action. Along with his 90th minute goal, Pacheco finished two shots and a shot on goal, while his brother Fernando had a shot on goal to go with his assist. Armel Kouassi totaled a team-high three shots, while Drew Whalen had two.

In net, Tim Trilk recorded his second-career shutout victory with a pair of saves to go with it.

PACHECO, TRILK EARN 'CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK' HONORS:
Western Illinois student-athletes Alejandro Pacheco and Tim Trilk both earned The Summit League 'Co-Player of the Week' honors for their performances last week, the league office announced Monday (Oct. 30).

Pacheco earned his first career Summit League 'Co-Offensive Player of the Week' award after he scored the game-winning goal with 27 seconds to spare at Oral Roberts to help the Leathernecks improve to 3-1-0 overall in the league standings. The goal also marked his second-career game-winner.

In net, Trilk garnered his second-career 'co-Defensive Player of the Week' award after recording a pair of saves for the shutout win on 12 shots faced.

SCOUTING THE BRAVES:
Bradley is 9-7-1 overall with a 3-3-1 record in the Missouri Valley Conference. The team is led by Roman Schindler's 16 points off six goals and four assists this season. Overall, Western trails the all-time series 16-10-1. Tuesday marks the 28th meeting between both programs. In last year's meeting, the Braves toppled the Leathernecks 2-0.

WIN THE TITLE OUTRIGHT:
This Saturday, (Nov., 4), Western Illinois and Denver will compete for The Summit League Regular Season Championship. Western currently sits at 3-1-0 overall while the Pioneers own a 4-0 record. A win gives Western the No. 1 seed in the league tournament (Omaha, Neb.) and hosting rights for the 2018 tournament.
