MILWAUKEE, WIS. – The Western Illinois women's tennis team was back on the road at Cardinal Stritch, and dropped a 7-0 decision. The Fighting Leathernecks fell to 0-7 overall while the Wolves improved to 11-2.
Jenna Wallace pushed her second set to a near tie-break but dropped a 6-2, 7-5 decision to Alexi Loomis in the number one singles.
Nicole Jones and Jessica Callahan were both swept in the number two and three singles, respectively. Andriana Johnson lost 6-1, 6-1 in the fourth singles while Ese Davis fell 6-1, 6-0 in the fifth. Jamee Hale pushed in the first set but eventually lost 6-4 then lost the second set 6-0.
The Leathernecks play their first home match of the season next Sunday (March 2), playing host to Chicago State. The match will take place at the Lakeside Tennis Center in Galesburg, starting at 10 a.m.
