MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois Women's Tennis will open Summit League action with four matches in three days when it travels to Kansas City, Mo., this weekend.
The Fighting Leathernecks (1-11) will face Oral Roberts at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 31 before taking on UMKC and Oakland on Friday at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. Western will finish off the weekend with a 9 a.m. match against Southern Utah on Saturday.
The Leathernecks dropped a 7-0 decision to Bradley during their last contest on March 26. Western Illinois is seeking its first win since a 4-3 victory over Chicago State on Jan. 26.
Marcela Brandao and Jill Furlong each won their first set at No. 1 and No. 2 singles against Bradley before ultimately falling in three sets while the No. 2 doubles team of Claire Griffin and Amy Unzicker won their match against the Braves (8-5).
Western Illinois will return home for a match against Roosevelt University on April 10 before heading to Brookings, S.D. for the final league cluster of the season at South Dakota State beginning on April 14.
