Women's Tennis travels to Bradley on Saturday

MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois Women's Tennis team will return to action when they travel to in-state rival Bradley for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, March 26.

The Fighting Leathernecks (1-10) will look to bounce back from a 4-1 loss to SIUE in the home opener while the Braves (2-12) are hoping to snap an eight-match losing streak.

Marcela Brandao picked up Western's lone victory in singles play against the Cougars. She was also victorious with partner Jill Furlong in doubles play.

Western Illinois defeated Bradley by a 5-2 score when the teams last met on March 30, 2010. The Leathernecks took five of the six singles matches in that contest and won one of three doubles matches.

The Leathernecks will use Saturday's match as their final tuneup before Summit League play. Western Illinois will travel to Kansas City, Mo., from May 31-April 2 for matches against Oral Roberts, UMKC, Oakland and Southern Utah.
