Family Feud
The
bragging rights between in-state rivals Western Illinois and Eastern
Illinois are not the only thing on the line on Wednesday, family bragging rights are up for grabs as well. Leatherneck
senior Kevin Hinds will compete against his cousin, Jonathan Hinds, who
has appeared in all three matches for the Panthers this season,
including one start.
Kevin
and Jonathan are not the only members of their family to play Division I
soccer as Kevin's older brother, Curt, played for Vanderbilt.
Future Conference Foe
The
Panthers are a team that the Leathernecks will learn to be very
familair with in the future. Beginning with the 2011 season, Eastern
Illinois will join The Summit League as an affiliate member in men's
soccer, meaning the two teams will square off every season in conference
play.
Bruisnma and Dominguez Named to All-Tournament Team
Western
Illinois sophomore Nathan Bruinsma and junior Alexis Dominguez were
named to the Tulsa Marriot Southern Hills Hurricane Classic
All-Tournament team over the weekend. Bruinsma recorded an assist in a
2-1 loss to SMU on Sunday and both players started each match over the
weekend for the Leathernecks.
