Sophia Tedesco serves as the Director of Student-Athlete Success and Support at Western Illinois University, where she oversees initiatives focused on academic support, personal development, student-athlete retention, and connecting Leathernecks with campus and community resources.
Tedesco returns to Western Illinois after serving as the Director of Softball Operations at the University of Illinois. Prior to Illinois, she spent two years at Western Illinois as a graduate assistant in several roles across the athletic department, including Compliance, Football Operations, Player Personnel & Relations, and Football Camps. During her time at WIU, she supported team operations, student-athlete onboarding, travel, department communication, and coordination with campus partners.
Before joining Western Illinois, Tedesco served as the Head Men's Basketball Manager and Social Media Coordinator at Saint Michael's College, assisting with team operations, travel, statistics, and digital content.
Tedesco earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Political Science with a minor in Religious Studies from Saint Michael's College and a Master of Science in Sport Management from Western Illinois University. She also participated in the NCAA/NFL Administrators Academy and gained professional experience with the Atlanta Falcons during the organization's 2025 training camp operations.
