Shelby Borchardt was named Interim Athletics Director on June 3rd, 2026. Prior to serving at the Associate Athletics Director or Internal Operations, she served as the Assistant Director for Ticketing, Events, and Annual Fund in May of 2017. Borchardt joined the WIU athletics staff full time as the ticket operations manager from July 2015 to May 2017.Â
Borchardt received her bachelor’s degree in sport management with a minor in management from St. Ambrose University in May 2013 and received her master’s degree in sport management from Western Illinois University in May 2015. While completing master’s program, Borchardt assisted in the WIU compliance office.Â
