Biography
SENIOR (2023-24): Castellanos missed the 2023-24 season due to injury.
JUNIOR (2022-23): Had a trio of wins at doubles while also winning three singles matches.
SOPHOMORE (2021-22): Castellanos went 2-10 in singles play during the 2021-22 season.
In doubles, Castellanos went 2-9 overall, playing with partner Maria Rybka all season.
FRESHMAN (2020-21): Did not play fall season due to COVID-19 Pandemic... appeared in 11 matches with a singles record of 2-9… earned first collegiate victory in straight sets against St. Francis (Ill.) on Feb. 14… led the team in singles victories with Agatha Carbonell… played in 10 matches at the number one spot… her 2-8 record at the number one spot placed her 8th in the Summit League
HIGH SCHOOL: Played in the No. 1 position in high school exchange program… reached the Semi-Finals of the State Championship… attended American School of Recife.
PERSONAL: Born October 10, 2001… daughter of Andrea Alves and Alexei Gonzalez… choose Western because “I really liked its structure and the university will give me the chance to establish close relationships with other students and my professors. It fits in perfectly with my career aims and I admire the values of the university and the proposal and ideas that the coach offered in relation to studies, training, and competitions”... most memorable sports moment was winning her first tournament in the United States after recovering from an injury… says family is biggest influence since “ They have been with me through the good and bad moments. Giving me the strength to overcome difficulties and advising and supporting all my decisions and helping me grow as an individual.”... hobbies include running, listening to music, watching movies, cooking and traveling… plans to major in finance.
