Ashley Campbell enters her third year as a graduate assistant softball coach in the 2015 season after an impressive playing career at Western Illinois.

Campbell played for the Fighting Leathernecks from 2009-12, appearing in 162 career games and starting 148 of them. She finished her career with a .297 batting average, 72 runs scored, 132 hits, 19 doubles, 21 home runs and 92 runs batted in.

As a freshman in 2009, Campbell earned All-Conference First Team honors as an outfielder. She finished her freshman season with a .357 batting average, 51 hits, including seven doubles, four triples and seven home runs, and 32 RBI in 143 at bats. Campbell recorded a .608 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .395.

In the 2010 season, Campbell appeared in 41 games and started 37 in left field. In her 108 total at bats she notched 27 hits, including three doubles and four home runs, and 19 runs batted in.

Campbell played in 24 contests, starting in 15 games during her junior season, batting .189 with 10 hits, 9 RBI, 10 runs and four homeruns. She had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in left.

As a senior in 2012, Campbell hit at a clip of .312 with 44 hits, eight doubles, a triple and six homeruns in 141 at bats. She also matched her season-high mark of 32 runs batted in, posted a slugging percentage of .511 and an on-base percentage of .357.

Campbell ended her playing career ranked No. 2 in the Western Illinois record book for career homeruns with 21, No. 9 in career slugging percentage with .508 and tied for No. 9 in career RBI with 92.
