HIGH SCHOOL: Pekin Community High School record-holder in the 100-breast (59.06)... Earned the school's Most Valuable Swimmer Award in 2017... Credits several of his club swimming coaches, Coach Ryan, Mitch and Derek, respectively, because they "always believed in my ability and pushed me to continue with the sport even when I felt like I was falling behind my competition. They encouraged me to put in the extra work and it paid off."
PERSONAL: Son of Chad and April... Brother is Western Illinois men's basketball student-athlete Ryan Maas... Chose Western Illinois because the school "offered what I was looking for both academically and athletically to compete at the Division I level while remaining close to home. When I came for my visit, the team and coaches were very welcoming and I liked the campus..." Enjoys football, triathlons, eating and spending time with family and friends... Fire Science major.
