Biography
SENIOR (2015-16): Played in all 27 games and started 11 of them... Averaged 17.5 minutes per game... Finished fifth on the team in scoring (7.3)... Averaged 3.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game... Recorded 23 steals, which was tied for second on the team, and 20 blocks, which also ranked second on the team... Shot 49.7 percent from the field and 62.0 percent from the free throw line... Had 10-plus points eight time during the year, including a career-best 26 points on 9-of-17 shooting at Denver (Feb. 11)... Recorded a double-double at Oral Roberts (Feb. 13) the following game with 12 points and 11 rebounds... Had one other 10-plus rebound game.
JUNIOR (2014-15): Played in 26 of the teams 28 games, starting seven of them... Chapman averaged 17.4 minutes per game... Averaged 4.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game... Shot 42.1 percentage from the field (51-121) and 52.0 percent from the free throw line (26-50)... Tallied 14 assists, seven steals and three blocks on the year... Finished the year with two 10-plus rebound contests and four games with 10-plus points... Chapman had a season-high 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting against Anderson (Dec. 30), and grabbed 10 boards in that contest for his lone double-double of the year.
PRIOR TO WESTERN: Native of Bronx, N.Y... Attended Western Oklahoma State College... Averaged 6.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and a block per game as a sophomore at Western Oklahoma State (2013-14)... As a freshman, he finished the year having averaged 7.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Eagle Academy for Young Men... Finished senior campaign at Eagle Academy, Chapman pulled down 7.0 rebounds per game to go along with his 7.7 points per game.
PERSONAL: Son of Aubrey and Joan Chapman... Born on April 17, 1993... Athlete he most admires is Kobe Bryant because "he is hardworking and still while at the end of his career he is training like he is a rookie"... Major influance on sporting career is his family... Number 1 sports highlight is dunking on Shabazz Mohammad and Winston Shepard in 9th grade.
