Von Washington was added to Western Illinois' basketball program as the director of basketball operations on August 7, 2018.
As the director of basketball operations, Washington will oversee team travel, video and overall player development.
Washington comes from Quincy University where he served as an assistant coach under Ryan Hellenthal as well as the head junior varsity coach.
As a guard for the Hawks in 2016-2017, he helped guide Quincy University to 25 wins, which ranks third most in school history. His 13.9 points per contest helped Washington earn a spot on the All-GLVC team during his senior season. He led the Hawks to the 2017 GLVC Western Division title as well as an appearance in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Prior to Quincy, Washington spent three seasons at Western Michigan University and was a member of the 2014 MAC Championship squad that garnered an NCAA Tournament bid.
In his prep career at Kalamazoo Central, Washington won two consecutive state championships and was an all-conference performer.
