Biography

JUNIOR (2011): Second Team Academic All-Missouri Valley Football Conference... received the Green Beret Award by the program for outstanding play on special teams... played in all 11 games... saw time at fullback and special teams... in the season finale, due to injuries, agreed to play nose guard (first time in career playing defense), and played nearly every snap in that NDSU game when the starter went down with an injury... made a tackle in the game.

SOPHOMORE (2010): Received the Academic Excellence Award from the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC)... played in seven games... solo tackle on special teams against Northern Iowa.

REDSHIRT-FRESHMAN (2009): Received the Academic Excellence Award from the MVFC... played in three games: Sam Houston State, Northern Illinois and the finale against South Dakota State... made an assisted tackle in the opener against Sam Houston State.

FRESHMAN (2008): Redshirted... named Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year... joined the Leathernecks after serving overseas with the Marines.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three years in track, twice in football and once in wrestling... Honorable Mention All-Conference... played for coach Dick Isaacson.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 1, 1985 in Peoria... No. 1 sports highlight was rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns during his senior year Homecoming game... his family and coaches have been a major influence, "They've helped make me the man I am today and have taught me to never give up."... most admires Walter Payton, "He had an unbelieveable work ethic and was one of the greatest players ever."... enjoys weight lifting, Playstation 3, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends... favorite professional team is Chicago Bears... son of Gary McCann and Lisa Harmon.
