JUNIOR (2016): Missouri Valley Football Conference President's Council Academic Award... MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award... MVFC Honor Roll... Saw action in all 11 games.

SOPHOMORE (2015): Played in the first three games and started against Illinois and Coastal Carolina at tackle... suffered a season-ending knee injury.

REDSHIRT-FRESHMAN (2014): Played in six games at tackle (Valparaiso, Drake, Youngstown State, South Dakota, South Dakota State and Indiana State)... part of an offensive unit that recorded a 1,000-yard rusher and averaged 72 more yards of total offense per game than in 2013... received the Missouri Valley Football Conference Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award.

FRESHMAN (2013): Redshirted... named to the MVFC Academic Honor Roll.

HIGH SCHOOL: First Team All-State Class 3A by the Des Moines Register and Iowa Preps... two-time First Team All-District and Academic All-District accolades... team won the District 7 championship his senior year... lettered three years in football and once in basketball... played for coach Curt Ritchie.

PERSONAL: Born November 2, 1994... No. 1 sports highlight was making it to the state semifinals in the UNI-Dome his senior year and recording a career-high 11 tackles... his older brother Tyrel has been a major influence, "He helped me learn the game of football and was always pushing me to be better."... most admires Marshal Yanda, "He was an overlooked lineman from Iowa who is now one of the best players in the NFL."... his brother Tyrel played football for Iowa from 2007-09... enjoys watching sports, playing X-box, hanging out with friends and hunting... favorite professional team is the Green Bay Packers... son of Jim and Mary Detweiler.
