2007 (Senior season): Named to the all-Gateway honorable mention list... ranked fifth in the league with 101 tackles... intercepted two passes (52 return yards)... broke up four additional passes... recovered two fumbles... tied a school record of 10 career forced fumbles... ranked second in the league in forced fumbles this season (3)... part of a pass defense that led the league and ranked 24th nationally... team also ranked 22nd nationally in scoring defense and 20th in total defense... a three-year starter with 27 starts to his name... two-time captain... earned the Red Miller Award at the team's annual awards banquet.
2006 (Junior season): Started all but the season-opener at strong linebacker... earned second-team all-Gateway honors... ranked third in the league and 21st in the nation in tackles, averaging 10.2 per game... led the nation in forced fumbles with 0.50 per game... recorded 102 total tackles... had five double-digit tackle outings, including a career-high 14 against Indiana State... also had one interception, one sack and four tackles for loss... broke up three passes... named to the All-Gateway Preseason Team... named the Western Illinois Defensive MVP... earned second-team all-region honors and honorable mention all-America honors from the Football Gazette.
2005 (Sophomore season): Saw action in all 11 games, starting six at either strong or weak linebacker... registered 53 total tackles... ranked second on the team with 10.5 tackles for loss (-42 yards) and third with 32 solo stops... had a TFL in all but three games... led the team and ranked fourth in the league with six sacks (-35 yards)... recorded a career-high nine tackles twice, against Northern Colorado and at Stephen F. Austin... intercepted a pass at Indiana State... forced two fumbles and recovered one... named to the Gateway Conference All-Newcomer Team.
Before Western Illinois
2003-04 (Miami (Ohio)): Redshirted in 2003... saw action in eight games at defensive end in 2004, registering a pair of solo tackles.
High School
Named one of Michigan’s top 50 high school players... a three-time all-area and all-conference honoree... an all-state selection as a senior... recorded 78 solo tackles, 56 assisted stops, five sacks, three interceptions and two touchdowns in his final season... helped his team to back-to-back conference titles as a junior and senior... set a Michigan High School record of six sacks in a game as a sophomore... lettered all four seasons in football and served as team captain... also earned all-area and all-county honors in wrestling and track, lettering twice in each and serving as team captain in each.
