SENIOR (2019): Redshirted

JUNIOR (2018):
Played in 10 games… recorded career-high 16 solo tackles… had two pass break-ups… recovered a fumble at South Dakota… had an interception against Southern Illinois… returned one kick for 33 yards versus #15 Montana.


SOPHOMORE (2017): Saw action in all 12 games… recorded one solo tackle and forced a fumble at Coastal Carolina… returned 27 kickoffs for 615 yards averaging 22.8 per return and 51.3 per game… three games with 100 yards or more kickoff returns… set a career-high 138 yards on six kickoff returns and a career-long 42 yard return against South Dakota State… tallied a 6-yard touchdown catch at Indiana State.


FRESHMAN (2016): Played in nine games... 14 of his 16 tackles were solo stops... forced a fumble and recorded an interception... three pass break-ups... three solo tackles against Northern Arizona and forced a fumble... four solo tackles at Northern Illinois and broke-up a pass... assisted tackle and a pass break-up at South Dakota State... earned his first collegiate start against Indiana State... finished with a solo tackle and pass break-up... solo tackle at Missouri State... first career interception and returned it 25 yards in the North Dakota State game... season-high five tackles at South Dakota, including one for a loss.

HIGH SCHOOL: First Team All-Conference… Second Team All-Metro West… Honorable Mention All-State… lettered in football and basketball… finished the year with 31 receptions, 882 all-purpose yards, 12 touchdowns, two pass break-ups and four pancake blocks… played for coach Jermain Crowell.

PERSONAL: Born May 30, 1998… full name is Darron Wheeler II… his parents have been a major influence, “I love the game of football and I noticed it makes my family proud.”… his father played college basketball… enjoys being in the weight room, playing PS4 and hanging out with friends… favorite professional teams are the Golden State Warriors and Seattle Seahawks… favorite music is Lil Durk and Chief Keef… son of Darron Wheeler and Quanda Brown.
