Kyle Stewart enters his first season with Western Illinois football as the program’s Defensive Quality Control coach.

A Monmouth, Illinois, native, Stewart is a 2021 graduate of Culver-Stockton College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management and began his coaching career as a student assistant with the football program.

Stewart has gained coaching experience at several programs, serving as the linebackers coach at Waldorf University (2021-22), Lindsey Wilson College (2023) and Doane University (2024). Most recently, he served as the assistant defensive line coach at Winona State University in 2025.

Throughout his coaching career, Stewart has helped develop seven All-Conference players and one All-American.

Stewart returns to his hometown region as he joins the Leatherneck football program.
