Western Illinois football coach Myers Hendrickson announced the addition of John Feauto to his staff. Feauto takes over as the squad’s running back coach.

Feauto most recently served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Kansas Wesleyan, position he took over in 2022. Feauto was Hendrickson’s starting quarterback at Kansas Wesleyan, leading the team during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

“Coach Johnny Feauto brings great experience from being in our offense, both as a player and as a coach,” Hendrickson said. “As a highly accomplished student-athlete himself, I am excited to add him to our offensive staff, as he will help elevate our entire program. He has won conference championships as a player and coach during our time together at Kansas Wesleyan University.”

During his time as a player at KWU, Feauto compiled a total of 8,262 yards and 99 total touchdowns. In 2019, Feauto set a school and conference record with 4,089 yards passing. He also set school and conference records with 49 passing touchdowns and 194.6 passing efficiency rating, also in 2019. In addition to leading the Coyotes to 2018 and 2019 conference championships, KWU had undefeated regular seasons both years. Overall, Feauto’s record as a starter at KWU was 25-2. In 2018, Feauto was KCAC Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-Conference. In 2019, Feauto was First Team All-American, First Team All-Conference and KCAC Player of the Year.
