Andy Prevost

Andrew Prevost

Andy Prevost reunited with Leathernecks head coach Bob Nielson in March 2013 when he joined the football coaching staff. He enters his third year on staff, and second working with the tight ends.

During the 2014 season, the Leathernecks battled injuries at tight end as six different players saw action.

Prevost worked with the defensive linemen in 2013. That year the Leathernecks finished seventh in total defense, 14th in first downs defense and 31st in third down conversion defense. The defense line had one player earn All-Missouri Valley Football Conference award for the second straight year.

Prevost joined Western after working the previous two seasons with Nielson at Minnesota-Duluth. He worked with the UMD outside linebackers, having had the opportunity to tutor a pair NSIC senior standouts - Rob Huberty and Derrick Zappa - in 2011 (and another All-NSIC honoree, junior Nate Zuk in 2012).

Prevost spent the 2010 season working as a student assistant coach at his alma mater, Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He lettered two years on the offensive line for the Blugolds.

A native of Galesville, Wisconsin, and a 2005 graduate of Gale-Ettrick-Tremplealeau High School, Prevost earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication/Information Systems from Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2011 and earned a master’s of Education degree at UMD.

He is married to the former Cortney Bishop.
