Biography

SENIOR (2018): Summit League All-Academic Team... Summit League All-Tournament Team...Started all 40 games... Collected a .298 batting average... Led team in home runs (5) and RBI (29)... Bashed eight doubles... Hit a grand slam in a 10-1 win at Iowa on March 27... Had eight multi-RBI games... Led the team in slugging percentage (.500) and total bases (62)... Made seven appearances in the circle including a complete game victory over Bowling Green on March 10... Compiled a 2-2 record with a 4.79 ERA over 19 innings... Struck out 10 batters. 

JUNIOR (2018): All-Summit League Second Team (as SS)... Summit League Academic Honor Roll... Started 47 games at the plate with a .227 average... Finished with two home runs and hit one in back-to-back games on April 7 and April 8 against Purdue Fort Wayne... Picked up 12 RBI with 30 hits and scored 14 runs... Totaled six multi-hit games at the dish... In the circle, she went 3-2 with a 6.05 ERA over 39.1 innings of work... Struck out 32 batters including a season-high six at South Dakota on March 30 while walking a total of 16 hitters... Appeared in 21 games as a pitcher, all out of the bullpen. 

SOPHOMORE (2017): Summit League Academic Honor Roll... Played in a total of 34 games with 23 appearances in the circle... At the plate she finished the year hitting .254 with 16 hits, eight RBIs, four home runs and eight runs scored... She also drew seven walks on the season... In the circle she pitched 83.2 innings with 86 strikeouts, gave up 62 runs (53 earned) and walked 21 batters... Finished the year 4-6 in pitching with a 4.43 ERA with 10 total starts... At the plate she had four multi-hit games with a season-best 3-for-4 performance versus South Dakota at home on March 26... She also had three RBIs and scored two runs and hit one of her home runs in the contest... As a pitcher she had two contests in which she recorded a season-best nine strikeouts.

FRESHMAN (2016): Summit League Spring Academic Honor Roll... Distinguished Scholar... Summit League 'Player of the Week' Feb. 22... Started 32 games at the plate and appeared in 37... Went 2-for-4 in her debut against Green Bay (Feb. 12) where she hit her first career double and drove in her first run... Went 3-for-4 against Green Bay (Feb. 20)... Hit her first career triple against Quinnipiac (Feb. 20)... In the circle, she pitched 27 innings of relief in 14 games to compile a record of 4-0 with one save... Struck out 20 batters and only allowed 10 earned runs for an ERA of 3.33... Opened her career with 9.2 shutout innings... Earned the win in Western's 12-inning victory against IUPUI (April 29) where she struck out a career-high four batters.

HIGH SCHOOL: Abbott is a three-time BNC West Division All-Conference Selection at Stillman Valley. In 2014, Abbott put herself in the IHSA record books with her bat, hitting .704 as a junior, good for fifth all-time in IHSA history. Abbott was a First Team All-State selection her junior year as the right-hander struck out 189 batters in 21 games, allowing only 28 earned runs over 131 innings. She finished the year 20-1 with a 1.12 ERA, helping Stillman Valley to three consecutive Class 2A Regional Championship. In 2013, Abbott struck out 19 batters in the championship game of the Orangeville Tournament, one year removed from throwing 18 in the same game. The Stillman Valley, Illinois native was named Second Team All-State as a sophomore, striking out 190 batters with and ERA of 1.20. Abbott has retired 613 batters via the strikeout during her first three seasons. At the plate, Abbott drove in 59 runs in 2014, hitting seven home runs, seven triples and 16 doubles.
