SENIOR (2011): Played in all 11 games... started against Sam Houston State, Missouri, Southern Illinois, South Dakota State and North Dakota State... took over as starting fullback in late September... rushed three times... caught five passes for 54 yards... first collegiate TD reception against NDSU... made three tackles on special teams and forced a fumble... helped pave way for five 100-yard rushing games by the backfield this year... received Robert Blaha Senior Scholarship Award.
JUNIOR (2010): Received the Academic Excellence Award from the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC)... played in all 13 games... started in the Southern Illinois and Coastal Carolina contests... rushed two times for four yards... caught three passes totaling 35 yards, including the Coastal game in which he caught two passes for 24 yards... 11-yard reception against Northern Iowa... helped the offense to a record-setting season, finishing third in total offense (457.2 yards), 11th in scoring offense (32.5), 13th in passing offense (266.5 yards) and 23rd in rushing offense (190.7 yards)... scored 40-plus points in five games... recorded three tackles on special teams, including two in the playoff game at Appalachian State.
SOPHOMORE (2009): Honorable Mention Academic All-MVFC... received one of the five Coaches’ Appreciation Awards... played in all 11 games and started the final five (Indiana State, North Dakota State, Illinois State, Northern Iowa and South Dakota State)... caught three passes for 12 yards, including two for four yards against South Dakota State... eight-yard reception against North Dakota State... helped pave the way for 1,000-yard rusher Dre Gibbs... made four tackles.
AT HARPER JC: Member of the 2008 National Championship team... started all 11 games... named Honorable Mention All-Conference... caught six passes for 27 yards... redshirted his first year.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned All-Conference honors in 2006... member of the 2005 state title team and in 2006 squad was state runner-up... played for coach Brent Pearlman... lettered in football, wrestling and track and field.
PERSONAL: Born July 26, 1989 in Arlington Heights... No. 1 sports highlight was making the tackle on fourth-and-two in the 2005 state championship game... his father has been a major influence, “He’s athletic and strong, and I always looked up to him. He played sports his whole life and I have too.”... most admires former NFL linebacker Bill Romanowski, “He played linebacker for 16 years and never missed a game. He did everything he could and outworked everyone to keep playing in the NFL.”... holds a black belt in karate and advanced to Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts... enjoys outdoor activities, shooting, camping, fishing and four-wheeling... favorite professional team is the Chicago Bears... lists Blink 182 as his favorite music group... son of Bob and Jennifer Richardson.
