SENIOR (2010): Second Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference... voted Team Captain... Preseason Second Team All-MVFC by Phil Steele College Football Preview... made two tackles, including a sack, and recovered a fumble in the opening win over Valparaiso... three tackles at Purdue... made four tackles, including a sack, in the win over Sam Houston State... four tackles and shared on a TFL during the victory at home against Indiana State... key 1.5 sacks in the win at North Dakota State, including one on fourth down late in the game giving the ball back to the offense.. tallied four tackles and a quarterback hurry in the road win... recovered a fumble at South Dakota State... three tackles and broke up a pass in the win over Youngstown State... came up with a key sack during the Penguins' final drive to help secure the win... finished Missouri State game with three tackles... assisted tackle against Illinois State... made two tackles, including one for a loss, at Southern Illinois... JUNIOR (2009): Played and started in 10 games... recorded season-high seven tackles at Northern Illinois... recorded 2.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks against Stephen F. Austin... also registered 2.5 TFL (29 yards) and two sacks (28 yds) with a forced fumble at Youngstown State... four tackles at Illinois State and had three quarterback hurries... three stops at Northern Iowa... two tackles against South Dakota State... a solo tackle at Sam Houston State and assisted on one at Missouri State and Indiana State.

SOPHOMORE (2008): Played in nine games, starting against Stephen F. Austin... registered nine tackles, including two for loss... intercepted a pass and had two breakups against SFA.

FRESHMAN (2007): One of five true freshmen to earn a letter... started at defensive end against Indiana State... had a season-high three tackles in his only start.

HIGH SCHOOL: Had 92 tackles in 2006, including 73 solo stops which ranked third in the conference... led the league with 20 sacks... forced four fumbles and recovered three... blocked three kicks as a senior... earned three All-Conference nods... named to First Team All-State teams by the News-Gazette, the Chicago Tribune and the IHSFCA as a senior... was a starter on back-to-back Class 5A state title teams... recorded 31 sacks in his career... team captain in football and track... played for coach Ken Leonard.

PERSONAL: Son of Mark and Patricia Stieren... born Oct. 1, 1988 in Springfield... No. 1 sports highlight was playing in three state championship games and winning two... his HS head coach and defensive line coaches have been a major influence... his cousin Rachel Galligan is a former Ohio Valley Conference women's basketball 'Player of the Year' at Eastern Illinois and is currently playing professionally overseas... enjoys hanging out with family and friends... favorite professional team is the Green Bay Packers... favorite musician is Willie Nelson.
