Biography

Before Western Illinois (At Penn State)
2007 (Sophomore Season
): Koroma's first season on the field was slowed by a broken foot during preseason camp. He missed the initial four games, made his debut at Illinois and played in the final nine contests. Koroma recorded seven tackles, including 0.5 TFL in the shutout at Temple. Five days after making his debut as Santa Claus at the team's Christmas party, Koroma made his first career start in the Valero Alamo Bowl against Texas A&M. He registered a season-high three hits and helped the Lions hold the Aggies to just three points over the final 49 minutes in the 24-17 win. The highlight of the regular-season came at Indiana, when Koroma alertly pounced on a fumble in the final minute to seal the important road win. He recorded two tackles at Temple, with one stop each against Purdue and at Michigan State. Koroma was on the field for 180 snaps, topped by 45 against the Aggies and 27 against the Spartans.

2006 (Freshman Season): Redshirt season. He made four tackles in the 2007 Blue-White game.

High School
At the Milton Hershey School, Koroma was a three-year starter on the football and track teams. He played on both the offensive and defensive line for Coach Bob Guyer. Koroma was an all-state defensive lineman as a senior and earned all-conference offensive and defensive line honors as a junior and senior, also winning Capital Division MVP accolades. He also was named to the Harrisburg Patriot-News Platinum 33 and played in the 2006 Big 33 All-Star Classic. He helped his team reach the state playoffs for the first time in eight years and win two division co-championships. As a senior, Koroma made 53 tackles and recorded nine sacks to end his prep career with 118 tackles and 23 sacks. He also had 90 "pancake blocks" on the offensive line. He threw the shot put and discus on the track and field team.

Full name is Alim Abe Koroma. He is the youngest of six children, with three older brothers and two older sisters. Born May 1, 1988 in Washington, D.C.
