MACOMB, Ill.- Western Illinois University is proud to officially introduce the men's basketball coaching staff for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Leading the program with energy, experience, and a clear vision for success, Head Coach Chad Boudreau returns alongside a talented team of assistant coaches. The staff includes returning Assistant Coach Kris Glover, whose leadership and familiarity with the program provide valuable continuity, as well as new additions who bring fresh perspectives and strong coaching backgrounds.
In addition to our returning coaches, we're excited to welcome some new faces to the staff. One of them is Bryan Martin, who brings a wealth of experience and success to the program. Most recently, he served as the assistant coach for the University of South Carolina's men's team during the 2024–25 season. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he led the team to a share of the A-R-C regular season championship with a 13-3 record in conference play, earning co-champion honors alongside Nebraska Wesleyan. Over the course of his coaching career, Martin has compiled an impressive 166-134 record, highlighted by an A-R-C regular season title, an A-R-C postseason title, and two NCAA tournament appearances.
Charles 'Chuck' Ruffing joins us from Bryant & Stratton College in Wisconsin, where he served as the head coach of the men's basketball team. Under his leadership, the Bobcats achieved an impressive 23-10 season and advanced to the NJCAA Region 4 Championship game.
Solon Ellis joins us from Indian Hills Community College, where he served as an assistant coach during the 2024–25 season. Before his time at Indian Hills, he was a graduate assistant for the men's basketball program at Southern Utah University.
Nick Mires will be joining the Leathernecks as a graduate assistant for the men's basketball team. He previously served as a graduate assistant at Campbell University, where he supported basketball operations alongside the director.
The Leathernecks are excited to welcome these new additions to the team. Their diverse experiences, strong work ethic, and passion for the game will make an immediate impact on our program. We look forward to the energy and dedication they'll bring as we continue to build toward a successful season.
