MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois Football reached a new milestone by landing the top-ranked recruiting class in the Big South-Ohio Valley Conference for the 2025 season, according to 247Sports.com. Guided by Head Coach Joe Davis, the Leathernecks signed 15 high school prospects, signaling a transformative step forward for the program.
"Our staff worked hard to secure a very talented group of student athletes from the class of 2025." said Coach Davis. "Optimism is high within our program and we're excited to begin our summer program in preparation for a competitive fall schedule!"
These recruiting efforts address critical areas, particularly enhancing size and depth on both the offensive and defensive lines. Coach Davis emphasized the importance of these additions, stating, "We certainly feel that we've improved the talent of our roster. When we went into this thing, we knew we needed to be bigger and longer, especially on the offensive and defensive lines. We've definitely done that."
The Leathernecks' commitment to revitalizing the program is clear, especially as they embark on their 2nd season in the Big South-OVC Football Conference.
