Leathernecks Head to UNIDome to Face Ranked Panthers

WIU renews rivalry with UNI

MACOMB – Western Illinois hits the road to take on Northern Iowa on Saturday. UNI leads the all-time series 35-16. The Panthers have won five of the last seven and two straight vs. the Leathernecks. After a slow start, UNI has won five of its last six games, including two in row, climbing to No. 18 in the FCS STATS poll and No. 23 in the FCS Coaches Poll.

WHAT TO WATCH | Northern Iowa is the eighth ranked offense in the MVFC, scoring 24.4 points per game while Western Illinois is the 11th ranked offense, scoring 15 points per game. The Panther defense allows 25.5 points per game while the Leatherneck defense concedes 48 points per game.

WHO TO WATCH | UNI quarterback Theo Day leads the MVFC in passing yards (2152/269 per game) while WIU QB Matt Morrissey is fifth with 1590 (198.8 per game).; Sam Schnee leads UNI with 42 receptions, 725 yards and 4 TDs. Jay Parker leads WIU with 39 catches, 324 yards and 2 TDs while Jaylin Jackson adds 37 catches for 386 yards and 3 TDs. WIU's Bradyn Smith leads the MVFC in solo tackles (45) and is fifth in overall tackles (67). Jahsiah Galvin leads UNI in tackles with 64 (34 solo).
