Leatherneck tennis drops home match to USD

Jacobson plays well in singles and doubles

MACOMB – The Leatherneck tennis team fell in their Summit League opener on Saturday, dropping a 7-0 contest to South Dakota at the Western Illinois tennis facility in Macomb.
Western Illinois is next in action on March 13 at Summit League newcomer, St. Thomas.
No. 5 singles player Ashley Jacobson nearly won her first set, dropping it 7-5 before losing the second, 6-2.
The No. 1 doubles team of Lorena Castellanos and Maria Rybka and the No. 3 doubles team of Jacobson and Paige Grice each lost 6-4.
