Senior Day
The Leathernecks are honoring Jake Weyhrich in a Senior Day celebration ahead of Saturday's tip-off. The Manito, Ill., native transferred to Western Illinois in 2018 and has appeared in 13 contests for the Purple and Gold. Injuries have prevented Weyhrich from competing this season, but he'll forever be a part of the WIU family. 

Weyhrich was twice named to the Summit League's Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence and will be receiving a bachelor's degree in agriculture business with a minor in agronomy. 

Sweep 
Western Illinois brought out the brooms in 85-77 and 75-73 victories at Omaha this past weekend. The team hadn't previously swept a league opponent since the 2016 season, where it recorded 86-71 and 63-60 decisions over Oral Roberts.
