Ticketing
After thorough discussion and consultation with university leaders, Western Illinois Athletics made the decision to decrease seating at all outdoor events this spring; the change limits entry to family members of student-athletes and staff.
Student-athletes will be permitted to have only their families in attendance, admitted via the player pass list.
Leatherneck football season ticket holders who previously purchased tickets in the fall will have three options.
Option 1: Transfer season tickets to the fall 2021 season
Option 2: Transfer payment to the Leatherneck Club as a tax-deductible donation
Option 3: Receive a full refund
Athletic staff will be in contact with all who renewed for the 2020 season.
WIU Athletics will continue to monitor the attendance policy throughout the spring. Updates will be provided on GoLeathernecks.com.
Tailgating
Per current state and local guidelines, tailgating will not be permitted at any athletic event.
Catch the Action Live (Socials, Radio, Video)
There are several ways to stay up to date with in-game action.
1. Follow the team's Twitter pages for in-game updates and game highlights - @WIUFootball.
2. This year, the Leatherneck Sports Network has a new home online on Mixlr. Click here or download the Mixlr app (searching WIU Athletics) for access. Dr. Tom Cody and RJ Larson will be on the call all season long.
3. Western Illinois Athletics continues its partnership with the WIU Broadcasting and Journalism Department to live stream all home football games via ESPN3 or ESPN+.
ESPN3 is a part of ESPN's digital networks and available for on-demand streaming for pay-TV subscribers. ESPN+ is a direct-to-consumer subscription streaming with access to thousands of additional live sporting events, original content and shows, and an on-demand video library. Fans can subscribe to ESPN+ for just $5.99 a month (or $49.99 per year) and cancel at any time.
Media
Due to limited spacing, media will not be permitted inside the press box at Hanson Field. A media workroom has been created in the campus recreation center; seating is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Masks are required for entry inside the workroom and must be properly worn at all times when inside the facility.
Media will be permitted to film/shoot from a select area in visiting seating inside Hanson Field.
To request a media credential, please contact Monyae Williamson at ms-williamson@wiu.edu. All interviews (postgame and otherwise) will be conducted via Zoom.
