Thank You, Seniors | Three Leathernecks will be playing their final home game in Western Hall tonight. Join head coach Billy Wright in honoring James Claar, C.J. Duff, and Keshon Montague in the pre-game recognition ceremony.

  • Claar - averaging a season-high 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds this year
  • Duff - started in 109 consecutive games, three off from tying the school record
  • Montague - buried a pair of late free-throws in Western's 79-76 win over SDSU in the 2019 Summit League Tournament; the points helped the Leathernecks become the first No. 8 seed to defeat the No. 1 in SL history

Senior Day Promotions | Free pizza is available while supplies last. Western students also have a chance to enter into a half-court shot contest, where one lucky contestant will compete to win a 40" Roku TV.

WIU's Last Outing | Saturday's contest versus North Dakota had all the makeup of an entertaining basketball game, and Western Illinois came up short in the 86-83 overtime thriller.

Kobe Webster put up 20 points in back-to-back nights.

Series History | Western visited Omaha on Jan. 23, facing the tall task of ending the Mavericks' then 15-game home winning streak.

It took an extra period to settle the score, but the streak remained intact after an 87-82 decision. Omaha leads the all-time series 13-10, and are currently working a seven-game winning streak over the Leathernecks.

Western is 0-2 in overtime games this season, both in Summit matchups.

Summit Standings | The Summit League Tournament returns to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in a few weeks (March 7-10), where the top eight teams in league standings will vie for the 2020 championship title.

The Leathernecks currently sit in the eighth spot with three regular season contests remaining against Omaha, Oral Roberts, and Denver.

Tip-Ins

  • Kobe Webster averaged 24.5 PPG in two games last week, including a career-high 29 at South Dakota.
  • C.J. Duff manages 998 career points and is on the cusp of becoming the second Leatherneck to score his 1,000th this season. Webster joined the 1K club earlier this year in the home matchup against UT Martin.
  • Western looks to snap an eight-game winless skid versus Omaha
