Leathernecks Return to Western Hall Saturday

With two games in four days, Western’s homestand continues this Saturday with Denver.

Series History
Denver commands the all-time series, 11-3, and the two split meetings a year ago to win on their home courts.
 
The Leathernecks defeated DU, 78-60, in Western Hall behind a 48.3 percent shooting effort from the floor, before posting a season-low 46 points in a 74-46 loss in Colorado.
 
Western's Last Outing
The Leathernecks trailed by one at the half, but couldn't turn the page in a 77-69 decision to Purdue Fort Wayne.
 
Kobe Webster finished the night with 18 points, while Ben Pyle added 17, James Claar 14, and Zion Young 10.
 
Scouting the Pioneers
Denver is in search of its first Summit win after dropping contests against North Dakota State, North Dakota, South Dakota, and South Dakota State. The Pioneers are in the midst of a nine-game winless spell with their last success occurring in a 67-58 decision over Jackson State on December 3.
 
Jace Townsend paces all scorers with 15.8 points per game, and he is trailed closely by Ade Murkey who averages 14.8 and a team-high 5.4 rebounds.

  • Ben Pyle missed his first free throw of the season vs. PFW, and is currently 25-for-26 on the season
  • Zion Young (13.9 PPG) and Kobe Webster (15.8 PPG) have reached double figures in all four league games so far
