MLK Night | In partnership with the WIU Multicultural Center, MLK Game Night will honor the remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Halftime will include the singing of the Black national anthem, Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing, as well as a presentation by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, of which King was a member.Â
Series History | ORU is 33-11 in the all-time series, and in the last two seasons, each team has won on its home court.Â
Western's Last Outing | It was a one-point contest in the final minute, but Western Illinois finished the evening on a 7-2 run to outlast Denver, 86-80. Ben Pyle matched his career-high with 21 points, and with 33 seconds remaining, he catalyzed the late effort with a 3-pointer from the top of the key.Â
The Leathernecks held a 20-point lead in the first half but were outscored 17-5 in the opening minutes of the second.Â
From Three | Ben Pyle ties for second in the Summit with 42 made 3-pointers. The sophomore guard hit a career-high five against Purdue Fort Wayne this past week and is currently seventh in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (46.7).Â
Scouting the Golden Eagles | Oral Roberts is looking to secure its third straight Summit League win after defeating North Dakota (88-73) and North Dakota State (79-73) at home.Â
The team's starting forward, Emmanuel Nzekwesi, was recognized as The Summit League's Male of the Month after leading the league in scoring (19.3 PPG) and rebounding (11.8 RPG) in December. He ranks ninth (15.3) and second (9.8) in the Summit in those respective categories.Â
Four Golden Eagles are averaging double-figures: Nzekwesi, Max Abmas (14.5 PPG), Deondre Burns (13.9), and Kevin Obanor (11.6).Â
