Harrison Elected to Patriots Hall of Fame

Rodney Harrison will soon become the 29th person inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Former Western Illinois Football All-American Rodney Harrison was inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of the Fame, the team announced Monday (May 4).

Harrison helped the Patriots to back-to-back Super Bowl Championships in 2003 and 2004 and became the seventh player from those teams to be selected into the Patriots Hall of Fame. The Leatherneck great was voted in by fans as the 29th inductee since the inaugural 2007 class.

En route to 30 career sacks and 30 interceptions – one of only two players in NFL history to do so – Harrison finished his career as a two-time First Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection. He wore the purple and gold from 1991-93 and still holds Western's school record for tackles in a single game (28).

Harrison was taken in the fifth round, the 145th overall pick, of the 1994 NFL Draft, and was a Second Team All-America selection in 1992 before being named First Team All-America by five different organizations the following season.
