Leathernecks to Open Home Schedule Against Greenville Tuesday

MACOMB, Ill. - The Western Illinois men's basketball team (0-2) will make their 2011-12 home debut against the Greenville College Panthers (2-1)...The Tuesday night contest is scheduled to tip at 7 p.m. at Waste Management Court inside of Western Hall...The nonconference game marks the second time the two teams have met...The first and only meeting between the two teams took place on November 28th, 2009 in Macomb...The Leathernecks defeated the Panthers, 84-46.

A LOOK AT GREENVILLE: Greenville College enters Tuesday night's contest with a 2-1 record...The Panthers dropped their season opener  to St. Louis Pharmacy, 75-74, then earned back-to-back wins against Hendrix (79-60) and Rhodes (86-62)...After three games the Panthers are led by senior guard K.J. Hilliard and senior guard Markeith Brown who have averaged 16.7 and 14.0  points per game, respectively, through the first three games...Brown leads the team in field goal percentage having shot 53.6 percent from the floor...Senior forward Travis Garrison leads the team in rebounds per game with a 6.3 average...As a team, Greensville has outscored its opponents, 239-197...The Panthers have shot 45.3 percent from the floor thus far, 25.5 percent from behind the arch, and 77.3 from the stripe...Greenville is coached by Dr. George Barber (Asbury College '86) who is in his 13th season at the helm.

WHAT'S IN A WIN?: A win would mark the team's 1,185th victory in program history...A win would mark head coach Jim Molinari's 30th program victory and 253rd career victory...A win by Western would snap the 15-game losing streak...The 2000-01 Leatherneck squad dropped 16 straight games, the program record.

LAST TIME OUT: The Western Illinois Fighting Leathernecks fell to the Dayton Flyers in their 2011-12 season opener, then dropped a tough road contest to the 17th-ranked Michigan Wolverines last Thursday, 59-55...Senior guard Ceola Clark III made his 2011-12 debut at Michigan, scoring a game-high 21 points and dishing out four assists...Junior forward Terell Parks scored in the double-figures  for the second-straight game (11 points), and also pulled down a team-high five boards...Parks also finished with a team-high 71.4 shooting percentage from the field...Clark finished the game 5-of-7 from the stripe, while senior guard Tommie Tyler went 2-for-2.

LEADING THE WAY: Scoring 21 points in his Leatherneck debut last Thursday, senior guard Ceola Clark III leads the Leathernecks in points per game...Three other Western players average double-digit points in freshman guard Obi Emegano (12.0), senior guard Tommie Tyler (11.0), and junior forward Terell Parks (10.5)...Clark also has the most assists on the team with four, and is the only Leatherneck to have made more than one three-pointer on the year (4)...Parks' 6.5 rebounds per game is a team-best...Emegano leads the team in field goal percentage, having made 8-of-10 (80.0 percent) from the floor...Tyler leads the team in free throw percentage, having made 9-for-10 (90.0 percent) from the stripe.

IN THE SUMMIT LEAGUE: The Western Illinois men's basketball team ranks in the top-five of five statistical categories, including: second in free throw percentage (75.8%), second in rebounding defense (27.5), fourth in field goal percentage (44.4%), fourth in rebounding margin (-0.5), and fifth in defensive rebound percentage (68.5%)...Individually, freshman forward Obi Emegano ranks first in field goal percentage (80.0%) and 18th in scoring (12.0)...Junior forward Terell Parks sits fourth in field goal percentage (60.0%), tied for ninth in offensive rebounds (2.5 per game), 11th in rebounding (6.5 per game), tied for 12th in defensive rebounding (4.0 per game), tied for 15th in blocked shots (0.5 per game), and 25th in scoring (10.5 per game)...Senior guard Tommie Tyler ranks fifth in free throw percentage (90.0%) and tied for eighth in minutes (33.0 per game).
