Western Illinois linebacker Brett Taylor matched a program record held by NFL great Rodney Harrison (at Western Kentucky, 1993) with 28 tackles against South Dakota. For his efforts, the senior has been named the Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

In addition to matching a school record, Taylor's 28 tackles are the fifth-most in a single game in Missouri Valley Football Conference history. His 18 assisted tackles are the second-most in any game in WIU history.

The Macomb native's 58 tackles, 14.5 per game, lead all of the FCS. Taylor currently has a 3.900 GPA in sports management.
