Western Illinois men's basketball student-athlete Brandon Gilbeck has been selected as the WIU Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the week for his performances this past weekend on the court and for his accomplishments in the classroom.

Gilbeck recorded five blocks in WIU's Summit League Tournament contest, giving him 85 total on the year. His 85 blocks set a new Western Illinois program record for blocks in a season. 

The Spring Green, Wis. native majors in R.P.T.A. with a 3.125 GPA.
