Western Illinois track and field student-athlete Josh Kirby has been selected as this week's WIU Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Don DeNoon Invitational (Feb. 4).

Kirby placed second overall in the 60-meter hurdles with a new personal best of 8.28, which ranks second all-time in program history.

The freshman hails from Creve Coeur, Ill. and boasts a 3.51 GPA in Fire Protection Services.
