Western Illinois volleyball player Lexi Kolschefski has been selected as the Hampton Inn Scholar Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 19.

Over the past week, Kolschefski recorded 29 kills for a hitting percentage of .275. She recorded a season-high nine kills in Western's 3-0 sweep over Southeast Missouri State and led the team with seven kills against Weber State. The sophomore was also solid defensively as she compiled a team-leading 18 blocks over the week. She was also selected to the Hampton Inn Leatherneck Invitational All-Tournament team.

The La Habra, Calif. native is majoring in law enforcement and justice administration and boasts a 3.84 GPA.
