After helping lead Western Illinois baseball to a Summit League series win last weekend, sophomore Roman Visintine is the Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Visintine recorded three consecutive multi-hit games against North Dakota State, and finished the five games last week batting 8-for-17 at the plate with a five-game hitting streak.

He batted .500 against the Bison (6-for-12) with three runs scored, one RBI and walked twice. On the year, Visintine improved to .450 batting with a .500 on-base percentage.

Visintine carries a 3.528 cumulative GPA majoring in Exercise Science.
