Nathan Knuffman was named the Hampton Inn Scholar Athlete of the Week for his performance last weekend.

Knuffman kicked the game-winning 20-yard field goal with two seconds remaining to complete Western's come-from-behind 37-36 Homecoming victory over Southern Illinois. He converted all four extra point attempts in the win.

It was the first collegiate game-winning FG for Knuffman in the final seconds of the game, and first for the Leathernecks in regulation since November 2000.

Knuffman carries a 3.575 GPA majoring in Exercise Science.

The Fighting Leathernecks play host to South Dakota this Saturday (Oct. 10), kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. at Hanson Field.
