Western Illinois baseball player JJ Reimer (Dubuque, Iowa) has been named Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week Monday (March 30) for his performance on the field this past week, and continued success in the classroom.

This past week, Reimer collected four hits, scoring five runs, driving in two more and maintaining a perfect fielding perecentage of 1.000 over four games. On Wednesday against Illinois-Springfield, the senior went one-for-two at the plate with two walks and two runs scored in Western's 14-1 win. Reimer also collected three more hits in seven at bats, scoring three more runs and driving in two against North Dakota State over the weekend, WIU's first Summit League series win.

Reimer also performs in the classroom, holding a 3.242 ERA as an Exercise Science major.
