Ryan DeBois was selected the Hampton Scholar-Athlete for the month of October.
The forward earned a First Team All-League selection, to mark another inaugural honor for the junior. He has scored a goal in all five league games and in eight of the last ten matches to rank third in The Summit League with eight goals.
What is your pre-game ritual?
-The last song I listen to before each game is Effortless by Polo G.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
-“Big time players make big time plays” meaning the best players are the ones who show up in the biggest moments.
What’s the best part about competing at Western Illinois?
-My teammates for sure there’s no better environment than our locker room or the bus home after a big win.
What is your favorite TV show or movie and why?
-The Office, I find it so funny that I just watch it on repeat.
What is your dream job?
-I want to work as a General Manager of an MLS team.
What is your favorite food?
-Chipotle
What is your favorite hobby outside of sports?
-Besides soccer I just like playing other sports really, I love golf, basketball, football, really any sport I enjoy. If I’m not playing sports, I’m either watching them on TV or playing them on a video game.
