Western Illinois Signs Three To Women’s Basketball Program

Head coach JD Gravina announced the signing of Lutz, Rogers and Guidinger.

MACOMB, Ill.— Western Illinois women's basketball and head coach JD Gravina announced the signing of Elizabeth Lutz, Mackenzie Rogers and Jinda Guidinger for the 2018-19 season.

"This is an important recruiting class and we are thrilled to sign these three players," said Gravina. "Although they will all play the guard position for us, each of them brings a unique skill set to our team."

Lutz, a 5-foot-7 guard, is a native of California, Mo. and California High School. In her high school career, Lutz earned All-State her junior year, along with being All-District and All-Conference every year she's played. She eclipsed the 1,000-point mark as a junior and played for the Missouri Phenom in AAU basketball. Off the court, she is her school's student body president.

Rogers will join the Leathernecks out of Mediapolis, Iowa, where she attends Mediapolis High School. A 5-foot-8 guard, she is a member of the Mediapolis Hall of Fame, and is a three-time All-State selection. She was First Team All-Conference three times and was a two-time All-Area for the Hawk Eye newspaper. She was also the Player of the Year for the Hawk Eye and MVP of her conference as a junior. She also holds eight records at her school.

Lastly, Guidinger comes to the Purple and Gold family as a native of Pewaukee, Wis. She is a 5-foot-11 guard from Pewaukee High School and the Wisconsin Lakers AAU team. On the court, she was a First Team All-Woodland Conference honoree and an All-Metro Honorable Mention. She lettered in three sports: basketball, volleyball and track, while also being a member of the National Honor Society.

"All three of these players were hand-picked as being great fits for our offensive and defensive styles," said Gravina. "Not only are they terrific basketball players, but they are amazing people and will help us continue to have a great team culture on and off the court."
